Majored in Art History and Museum Studies earning a Bachelor’s Degree of Arts. I am not a salesperson. I am in charge of the Inventory and Shipping Department (among many other jobs). I prefer to stay behind the scenes. I like to think of myself as the “curator†of Koehn and Koehn. All knowing and all seeing.. kind of like the wizard of oz. ;-)
My favorite part of working at the jewelry store are the stories. I love meeting new people and talking to them, and hearing their stories. Such as, “oh this piece was my grandmother’s that my grandfather gave her before he left to fight in WWII and I want to propose with this ringâ€â€¦. You get it. To me jewelry is just another form of art. Art is just art until you study the life of the artist and try to understand the meaning behind what they were creating. Jewelry is just jewelry, until you hear the stories behind that piece. What does this person want to say with that particular piece, what do they want to express. To me, that is what gives jewelry its meaning.
